If you have seen Beerfest then thats all I have to say. They have DasBoot! Also their food is really good. I took my cousin and good friend there for the first time and it was my friend's b-day. We ordered dessert the server came out with a candle and started singing happy b-day and the rest of the table began to sing along. The pople there are so amazing! It is a first come first seated place.

Get back on 101 Southbound and don't stop until you get to Woodside Rd./HWY 84.  Go west until you see Chucks on your left hand side.  Much better than the Belmont one and worth the extra few exits (especially if you're craving donuts).

Unfortunately all of Chucks seem to use child labor.  How is it exactly they seem to be able to get away with this?  I thought this country out-lawed that back in the early 1900's?

There's this unique feeling of togetherness between friends and family that arises when wonderful food is grilled at the table, and there's a place that will provide just that: Korean Village is one more winner of a restaurant down on Geary that will satisfy your Korean BBQ and food craving. When I came here with three friends, we ordered a combination dinner which includes BBQ chicken, marinated beef, kimchi stew, chapchae, the boatload of banchan, and a very nice ahjumma who helped us grill our meat (~$75). The grill is set on top of the table as opposed to being built in; this no doubt creates a lot of heat around the table but consider San Francisco's frigid weather and you may find the grill heat to be a blessing.

As with most Korean restaurants in the area, dinner doesn't come cheap with almost $20+ per person, but I walked out with a smile on my face. And to me, that's what I ask for from a restaurant.

A really good place, except for the rude boy at the bar.
They were slammed, or behind, running around, kinda bitchy.
Food was very good, but our experience got tainted by the visuals.

After a long trip back from the east coast, I decided to check out this place for a quick massage during my workday. The website is true to it's philosophy. Quality, simple and modern, LOVED it! The front desk people are friendly and helpful when checking in and out. I had prompt service and champagne waiting for me after I changed into my robe. They definitely know what they are doing. Rather than using the traditional "not so good for your skin" oils, they used a "natural" Shea Butter Massage Balm during my customized body massage.  I left not only happy but my skin was screaming for joy! I returned the next day and bought their Relax and Energize Shea butter as an every night moisturizer. I wouldn't recommend applying it in the morning.  Can't wait to return for a facial.

Monkey, you claim to want to set up a space for the arts and music.  Well it's quite a hostile environment when live performances are going on in the room and you're sitting behind the counter with your friends, socializing loudly and collectively watching videos on your computer--this is during a live performance--one that is being broadcast...live!!!  My impression is that you actually have no respect for artists.  You seem to try to project an image that you're an artist, but a true artist would not disrespect performers the way that you do.  It's sad to say, but there are many a for-profit, non-pirate venue that treat artists a thousandfold times better.  And they actually pay, or at least give them a drink or something to eat!  My impression of the cafe is that it's not a space for the art and music, but rather a venue for the self-aggrandizement of yourself, Monkey, because you founded the station.

Also, you need to get a sink with some soap in your bathroom.  People be smearing their crap-and-piss stained hands all over the bathroom and then sitting down at the tables and smearing those crap and piss germs all over the tabletops for all to enjoy!  I know I did!

Decor is striking, and well done.
Bar is cool, drinks are damn good and original.
Service is like in NYC--swarms of good looking gay guys in cool uniforms with lots of bonding things around their arms.
The food--well.  I love good food, and this was good--but some things are not good just cuz they're weird--like bacon ice cream.  We tried it--but it needed more flavor--it was between 2 worlds, and would have better bolder.

The white dessert was just plain gross--even tho it looked beautiful.
Truffle oil meringue?  Weird.
A slider usually comes as 3--that thing was tiny, and should have been a strong classic--but they tweaked it to death....it didn't look or taste like fried chicken by the time the staff of 100 got done "reworking the concept".
I think they should swing  back to classic-retro.

I would NOT recommend this dentist to my worst enemy.  Eldon Young was recommended by a family member who was supposedly a good friend of his.  Expecting he would treat my parents better b/c of the relationship, it was NOT the case. He not only was rude to my mom when she asked about pricing but also, did a horrific job.  My mom went in for regular check ups but apparently his twice yearly teeth cleanings did not help since he ultimately pulled most of my mom's teeth out (pulling teeth generates more income than preventative care).  Worse, he recommended she wait until her remaining few bottom teeth fall out so he could order bottom dentures for her (!)  Why would any dentist  with any conscience allow someone's teeth to rot so he could pull teeth and order dentures (answer: more money for the dentist).  My mom is an old immigrant who trusted professionals and sadly, Eldon took advantage of her trust.   It's too late to save my mom's teeth since most are gone due to negligent care but if I can prevent someone from the pain she suffered, I will be satisfied.

Wow, I have never thought that I would eat Ethiopian food in my life. I now know to never say never. The vegetarian and meat plates are the best. It is enough to feed 3 people just those 2 dishes alone.  The club part is fastidious. I go there when I need a change of pace. No reservations required.

down-home.  casual, and friendly service.

the food was ok--but the stir-fry was described as "seasonal veggies and chicken".  It had some fine chopped stems of chard--and some onion, but no other veggies.  the taste was good.

tables were dirty.   felt a bit sloppy inside.

The best deep dish I have ever had. Whenever I have craved pizza I thought that Pizza was the bomb, but I was wrong! So Little Star you havewon my heart! Any pizza is the best! You must try it! The only downer is that it is first come first serve. Not open on Mondays.

What a crazy place--next  time you wanta get picked up, or hit on someone, throw back a few drinks, and jump in--Luka's is one hot scene.
So, why would they try to keep the place cleaner, or better managed, or get a faster bar (30min+ waits!)....or improve the food....
But, there's a line out the door, and plenty of booty waiting for action....

Sometimes I find the flavors too floral or perfumey.
The shop is elegant, beautiful to look at, classy.
Why don't they put a cone holder on the counter so that part where we take out money to pay while you hold the cone isn't so awkward.

Fruit flies in the pastry cabinet - every single time I come here.  Umm... If I can see them I'm not buying that shit.  Seriously.  Clean the damn place and get some of those ultraviolet insect traps that go high up on the wall.  I no longer buy pastries from this particular Peet's because of the consistent bug issue (don't believe me have a good long stare for an entire full minute and you will see at least 3).

Employees do need to drink some of the coffee and liven up a bit - be friendly.  There's no where to sit in this hole in the wall so the least you can do while I'm passing through is smile at me and be happy.

There are some really good employees here, though they just work at the wrong Peets.  Get rid of the bad apples before they ruin you!

Everything between the 5th minute/3rd cherry blossom and walking out to eat chicken fried steak was a blur, but it was a warm, fuzzy blur.

I missed all the drama, drink flinging and fisticuffs but I enjoyed great conversation with wonderful people and drank for free in a lovely location, so I have no complaints.

Thanks Yelp.

A beautiful, sumptuous, elegant decor.  Loved the black walls and amber leather seats.  They did a great job on creating a lush feeling.
Service was polished, on it's game, and well-spoken.
The food was quite good.  I enjoyed the corn & sorrel soup, but the chiffonade of mint was an akward garnish, and the strands of herb dripped around my chin.  For this level I would expect a more elegant flavored oil, corn relish, or more sophisticated garnish.
The charcuterie was excellent.  I would have liked a bread without sour flavor.
The wine was excellent.  All the other food was fresh and good.

I went there for the first time and I was shocked. I had heard alot about this place but I didnt know what to expect. It is a dive bar and thats sweet. I met some really amazing people there and thats a plus. You can also smoke if thats what you are into. The crowd is so low key and that is a plus after a long day.

The men that run this joint are so funky. They rule! I love the decor and all that it implies. It is trendy but it is a true San Francisco bar no matter where you are from, you will think that! You must go there once while living here. They only serve beer, wine and sake, so if you are into much harder drinks there is always across the street!

Lets say you've seated a couple with a 2 year old. Lets say the 2 year old has made his preferences clear:

" macandcheesemacandcheesemacandcheese...sorry nopizzasorry...macandcheeseok?ok?

Let's say you don't serve pizza but you serve some pretty good mac and cheese.

You'd be surprised how many places wouldn't get this.

But Q gets it. The food is ok; The grilled vegetable and goat cheese appetizer, the meatloaf, and the chilaquiles are standouts. The real virtue is the fun decor and the patient staff that seem to love the little guy, or at least know better than to stand between him and his mac and cheese.

My first concert was Tool and I was sitting in the orchestra section. I could still see Maynard and the rest of the band! Any seat in the house is impeccable to be in; I have also seen Tori Amos, Erykah Badu, Chris Rock, etc. They vey let you take in your drink to some shows, which was a treat!

This may be the Dolly-love talkin' BUT I had one of the most fun experiences here, so all I can do is rant about this place.

Who: Me and my best friend dressed to the nine in full Dolly Parton impersonation gear. Our goal was to be mistaken for drag queens or to be noticed by Dolly and taken up on stage and adopted by her.

What: The incredible Dolly Parton (and her incredible boobs) Backwoods Barbie tour

When: The perfectly beautiful summer eve of August 5th

Where: Greek Theater

Why: Please. Self-explanatory.

We had lawn seats but when we got to the concert they were giving tickets  away for the second tier of the amphitheater. Score! We win over losers who missed out on the show of a lifetime.

The sun was setting behind the massive edifice and Greek columns. It was dramatic and beautiful and set the perfect ambiance for the arrival of the Down home Goddess of Country music.

The view and acoustics are awesome. We could see Dolly's heaving bejeweled bosom and hear her crystalline voice from hundreds of feet up and away. When she and her band sang accapella I almost melted from the beauty of it all.

The only downer is the hard stone seats are pretty uncomfortable. We were in the middle of the row and having to wiggle or jump over my neighbors whenever I wanted a drink or to go to the bathroom was really annoying. Try to get aisle seats if you can. Bring blankets and jackets cause the Greek is outdoors and Berkeley weather is as erratic and unpredictable as its residents.

They serve soju cocktails at one of the beverage stands which is really random but cool, I guess. The beer selection sucks.

But truly nothing could deter the near-orgasmic experience of Dolly Parton singing me sweet melodies in an awesome event venue.

I have seen many concerts here. From Erykah Badu, Cypress Hill, the Meat Puppets, Smashing Pumpkins, etc. This venue is so intimate no matter where you are standing you will have a great view, unless you are standing behind a really tall person. They even have servers that slice into the crowd to take orders so that you so not lose you spot, hoe genius is that! The Fillmore rocks and I love the free posters that they give after the shows!

Perhaps I stepped in on an off day, but I surely wasn't in any place resembling a haven. What needed saving was the poor waitress. She was a bit flustered, attempting to assemble orders as the cook tried to put together his orders as quickly as possible.

It seems like everyone was waiting for their food to be assembled and delivered. It was the lunchtime rush, but wouldn't it be nice to have more than one waitress during these peak hours?

The food was typical. I only had a grilled cheese and my friend had a cheeseburger, which he enjoyed. With just-average food, you would expect some better service, especially in a neighborhood like the Richmond. Guess not.
